Sick on my Birthday

Today is my birthday and I’ve got a cold

So I’m feeling like crud in addition to old

My workday was filled with small bags of disease

Excuse me, fifth-graders, don’t tell on me, please

We’re off to Red Robin for burgers and fries

Then hang ‘round the mall while my wife finds her size

Back at home there’s more stuff to be done and be seen

A scavenger hunt and a sweet dance routine

A few thoughtful gifts - thank you all, you did well

And that apple dessert has a wonderful smell!

So I’ll tell you right now what I’m going to do
